Minimal Access Surgery | aMAS Bariatric Courses - ASC
The Minimal Access Surgery: aMAS Bariatric course at Apollo Simulation Centre is a three-day intensive training program designed for surgeons who want to advance their skills in bariatric surgery using minimal access techniques. The course covers key procedures such as Sleeve Gastrectomy, One-Anastomosis Gastric Bypass (OAGB), and Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RYGB), with a focus on laparoscopic ergonomics, trocar placement, and instrument handling. Participants will gain hands-on experience in advanced techniques like intracorporeal knotting, endo loop placement, and stapling, while learning to manage complications such as bleeding and anastomotic leaks.
The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical training, including live surgical demonstrations, panel discussions, and simulation-based exercises. Participants will also engage in a Learning Management System (LMS), offering 20 online modules that cover crucial topics like bariatric anatomy, surgical techniques, and post-operative care. The hands-on training takes place in dry lab and simulation settings, where candidates practice dissection, suturing, and stapling techniques.
The course includes assessments through Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), ensuring participants master the key principles of bariatric surgery.
This course is ideal for Minimal Access Surgeons looking to refine their bariatric surgery skills and gain expertise in the latest techniques.
